LUCAS ROSENTRATER

Director

Lucas Rosentrater has been working with at-risk youth and the poor for 13 years. He brings a variety of experience both nationally and internationally. His knowledge includes working in juvenile institutions and neighborhoods in Chicago such as Cabrini Green. His familiarity includes direct ministry with the "Latin Kings" street gang. His international involvement includes leading multiple mission teams comprised of people from all over the US, to engage and help impoverished areas of Mexico, Haiti, and Bolivia. These trips specialized in strategically working alongside indigenous leadership to connect resources to needs.
Lucas' passion is to break the cycle of youth recidivism by Strategically engaging juvenile facilities and high-risk communities within major US cities, and connecting/training appropriate agencies and local churches to have a presence in all facets of an at-risk youth's life journey.

WENDY LOLOFF COOPER

Chair of the Board

Wendy Loloff Cooper currently serves as CEO of Generation Schools Network and board chair for Turning Point of the City. While earning a business degree, her love for education was catalyzed through volunteering to teach a business entrepreneurship class for Denver residents living in an impoverished community on Saturday mornings at a local church. She brings extensive experience in the non-profit and education sectors, especially in the areas of network development, replication/scaling and using innovative models to solve equity challenges. She has worked in higher education (Northwest College, Colorado Christian University & Harvard University) and co-founded the StreetSchool Network, which grew to include more than 50 schools in 27 cities under her leadership. She holds a BS in Business Management from Colorado Christian University and an MA in Educational Leadership from Concordia University.  She was a Catapult Fellow and is currently a fellow with the Billions Institute.

BRYAN COOPER

Member of the Board

Married to Wendy Cooper for 3 wonderful years, and have 6 kids within our blended family. Bryan was born in Rome, NY 1964 and graduated from University of Northern Colorado with a Business Administration Degree in 1987. Bryan is currently working for ProTech Computer Systems since 1997 as the Sales and Marketing Manager.

CURTIS ALLEN

Member of the Board

The prison industrial complex has torn the fabric of Curtis' family as several family members have been incarcerated. Despite these challenges, Curtis was able to earn a BA in Electrical Engineering from New Mexico State University. Curtis is deeply passionate in supporting youth who seem destined for prison. As an experienced software engineer, Curtis and his family support Turning Point with strategy and technology. When he's not serving on the board, Curtis enjoys snowboarding and cycling.

KATHY DEGROOT

Treasurer

Kathy DeGroot has worked with non-profit organizations for 30 years. Positions held have included directing children's ministry at two churches in the Denver area, serving as High School Secretary for a Christian High School, and administrative assistance with Youth for Christ's National Field Office. Kathy also served as National Prayer Coordinator for Youth For Christ. Kathy has been involved in the ministry of Turning Point City since January 2011. She is also currently a board member for another local non-profit organization.
